LISTENING TO CASSETTE TAPES
| Basic Operation

Press the EJECT button (4) after checking that Tape I and Tape
II are not playing a tape.
e@ Only Type I (Normal) tapes can be played.
1. Press the EJECT button, and load a cassette tape in Tape I
or Tape II.
2. Close the cassette deck door.
3. If tapes are loaded in both Tape I and Tape IL, use the Tape
function to select which tape plays first.

The selected tape starts playing.
4. Press the TAPE-PLAY/DIR button to select tape playback
direction.

The tape in Tape | plays forward (m) only.
5. To stop playback, press the STOP button.
NOTE:
When tapes are loaded in both Tape I and Tape Il, relay play is
possible as shown below. (With playback of up to 16 tape sides
on Tape II.)

With a tape loaded in Tape II only, continuous play is possible for
up to 16 tape sides.
Music search, fast forward, and rewind
Music search (MS function) (XR-P270C only)
Press the © or © button while a tape is playing.
This lets you search up to 15 tracks ahead of the current track,
or up to 14 tracks back.
Fast forward, rewind
When the tape is not playing, press the © or ©) button.
NOTE:
With the XR-P170C,
you can select fast forward and rewind
operations even while a tape is playing.
