Before taking off the cover, changing the location, cleaning or any other conduct other
than normal operation turn off and unplug the paper shredder.
Serious injury may result.
Maintenance and service work may be performed only by:
• HSM customer service
• specially trained staff
(e.g. qualified electrician)
• service technicians from our contracting partners

Use according to instructions

The paper shredder is intended only for shredding normal paperwork (e.g. archive files, EDP lists, contents
of waste paper bins) and a small quantity of CDs, floppy disks, credit cards.
The sturdy cutting mechanism is unaffected by staples, paper clips and loose-leaf binders.
Using the shredder in a different way or beyond the scope described here is regarded as not being in accor-
dance with the instructions.
Use accordding to instructions also includes observation of the operating instructions.
For example, shredding of the following is not allowed:
• plastic bags of any kind
• plastic film
• adhesive tape
• sheet-metal or plastic signs
• plywood or balsa wood
• material with the tendency to form loops: tapes, strapping material, etc.
