5 Operation Modes
5.1 User-Selectable Protected Operating Modes
This UPS is equipped with six protected operating modes that enable equipment to receive conditioned output power during
blackouts and voltage fluctuations.
1. "AdA" / Auto-Adaptive Mode (default)
When running in Auto-Adaptive Mode, the UPS will automatically toggle between Max-Efficiency and Max-Quality
operation. Switchover between modes is fully automatic as dictated by site power status. Output power may be subject to
a transfer time of 8 milliseconds (typical) in Auto-Adaptive Mode.
2. "qUA" / Max-Quality Mode
When running in Max-Quality Mode, the UPS provides continuous on-line, double-conversion protection to connected
equipment with zero transfer time.
3. "EFF" / Max-Efficiency Mode (ECO)
When running in Max-Efficiency Mode, the UPS will provide bypass output any time input voltage is within the user-
selected BYPASS range. If input voltage falls outside the configured bypass range (default = +/-10%), the UPS will
automatically begin to provide On-Line, Double-Conversion operation. There is a transfer time of 8 milliseconds (typical) in
Max-Efficiency mode.
4. "FC5" / Frequency Conversion to 50 Hz
5. "FC6" / Frequency Conversion to 60 Hz
The two available Frequency Conversion Modes enable the user to convert output to either 50 Hz or 60 Hz. In a 60 Hz
environment, use "FC5" to convert output to 50 Hz. In a 50 Hz environment, use FC6 to convert output to 60 Hz. When
running in either Frequency Conversion Mode, the UPS will provide continuous on-line, double-conversion protection to
connected equipment with zero transfer time.
Note: Bypass is not available in either Frequency Conversion operating mode.
6. "FCA" / Frequency Regulation Mode 50 Hz or 60 Hz
When running in FCA / Frequency Regulation Mode, the UPS will automatically correct output frequency to match the
50 Hz or 60 Hz input frequency present on UPS startup. When powered-on in a 60 Hz environment, the UPS will maintain
60 Hz output during frequency variations. When powered on in a 50 Hz environment, the UPS will maintain 50 Hz output
during frequency variations. When running in Frequency Regulation Mode, the UPS will continuously provide On-Line,
Double-Conversion protection to connected equipment with zero transfer time.
5.2 Additional Modes And Settings
Battery Mode
When input AC power fails or goes outside of UPS operating tolerances while the UPS is running in any of the 6 protected
operating modes listed above, the UPS will automatically switch to Battery Mode. In Battery Mode, the UPS provides battery-
derived AC output through the built-in DC-to-AC inverter system. Battery mode AC output is true sine wave.
UPS "OFF" Mode Options
The UPS Setup configuration for Off-Mode Bypass Output allows users to enable (select "ON") or disable (select "OFF") AC
output at the UPS output receptacles when the UPS is connected to live AC input, but is turned "OFF".
