- Ensure that all accessories used are rated for the
working pressure.
- When loosening the connection pay attention that
the compressed air contained in the compressed
air hose escapes suddenly. Therefore get a firm
grip of the end of the compressed air hose to be
loosened.
- Ensure that all screwed connections are always
tightened properly.
- Do not attempt to repair the pump yourself! Only
professionals may carry out repairs on
compressors and compressed air tools.
4.2 Hazard generated by insufficient
personal protection gear!
- Wear hearing protection.
- Wear safety glasses.
- Wear a breathing mask for applications
generating dust or when harmful gases, mist or
vapours are generated.
- Wear suitable work clothes.
- Wear non-slip footwear.
4.3 Hazard generated by machine defects!
- Keep tool and accessories in good repair.
Observe the maintenance instructions.
- Before every use check the machine for possible
damage: before operating the machine all safety
devices, protective guards or slightly damaged
parts need to be checked for proper function as
specified. A damaged tool must only be reused
after it has been correctly repaired.
- Check to see that all moving parts work properly
and do not jam. All parts must be correctly
installed and fulfil all conditions necessary to
ensure perfect operation of the tool.
- Damaged protection devices or parts must be
repaired or replaced by a qualified specialist.
4.4 Specialised safety instructions for
cordless devices
Protect battery packs from water and
moisture!
Do not expose battery packs to fire!
- Do not use faulty or deformed battery packs!
- Do not open battery packs!
- Do not touch or short circuit battery pack contacts!
A slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak
from defective Li-Ion battery packs!
If battery fluid leaks out and comes into
contact with your skin, rinse immediately
with plenty of water. If battery fluid leaks out
and comes into contact with your eyes, wash them
with clean water and seek medical attention
immediately!
- If the machine is defective, remove the battery
pack from the machine.
Transport of Li-Ion battery packs:
- The shipping of Li-Ion battery packs is subject to
laws related to the carriage of hazardous goods
(UN 3480 and UN 3481). Inform yourself of the
currently valid specifications when shipping Li-Ion
battery packs. If necessary, consult your freight
forwarder. Certified packaging is available from
Metabo.
- Only send the battery pack if the housing is intact
and no fluid is leaking. Remove the battery pack
from the machine for sending. Prevent the
contacts from short-circuiting (e.g. by protecting
them with adhesive tape).
4.5 Additional Safety instructions
- Disconnect the connection cable (21) from the
mains and remove the battery pack (23) from the
tool before carrying out any conversion,
maintenance or cleaning.
- Please also observe the special safety
instructions in the respective chapters.
- Where applicable, follow the occupational health
and safety directives or regulations for the
prevention of accidents pertaining to the use of
compressors.
- Observe the legal provisions for the operation of
systems requiring monitoring.
- Consider environmental conditions:
- LED light (6): do not observe the LED radiation
directly with optical instruments.
CAUTION Do not stare at operating lamp.
- Do not modify the tool.
- Risk of accident. Position the connection cables in
such a way that no one is obstructed.
- Keep the connection cables away from sharp
edges, do not bent, do not tie together and do not
place anything on them.
- Do not use adapter plugs or extension cords.
- When disconnecting the power supply: Do not pull
on the cable. Grab the plug instead.
- Tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
- Have your tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only genuine replacement parts.
This will ensure that the tool functions safely.
