Operation • Maintenance
NOTICE: The delay in shutting off the pump prevents
rapid cycling when water faucets are being turned on
and off quickly (for example, when brushing teeth,
rinsing dishes, etc.).
Pressure Drop/No Flow: Normally, when the pump
starts, it will very quickly generate pressure and sense
flow. If there is no flow and the pressure does not rise
above 15 psi, the booster senses a "dry run" condition. It
can also sense this during operation if the water supply
to the pump fails. To protect the pump from running dry:
• Several seconds after it detects "dry run", the
pump will stop operating,
• The 'LINE' LED will turn to orange, and
• The 'HYDRAULIC' LED will turn on, and
• The LCD will display
ALARM
DRY RUN
To restart, make sure that the inlet water line is not
obstructed or leaking, and that flowing water is the line
is present.
1. Press the 'RESET' button.
2. The 'LINE' LED should turn green, and
3. The 'HYDRAULIC' LED should go off.
The pump will resume normal operation.
If the pump does not operate as desired, please refer to
Troubleshooting or call our customer service staff.
Maintenance
Hazardous voltage . Can shock, burn,
or cause death. Unplug the pump before servicing the
unit. Do not handle the pump or attempt to work on
the pump with wet hands or while standing on a wet or
damp floor.
The motor is lubricated at the factory for the life of
the bearings. The pump seal is water cooled and
self lubricating.
The motor is equipped with an auto-reset thermal
overload protector. If the motor overheats, the overload
will disable the motor to prevent damage and will reset
after the motor cools. If the overload trips repeatedly,
check the pump for the cause (low voltage, a clogged
impeller, etc.).
Sand and other abrasive materials in the pumped liquid
causes accelerated wear to pump components and a
reduction in performance. It may also cause excessive
friction in rotating components, leading to mechanical
failure. Should your water system be affected by this
condition, contact the factory for assistance.

If it is necessary to remove the pump for servicing, it is
useful to construct bypass piping similar to that shown
in Figure 4. This bypass pipe will allow removal of the
pump with only a brief interruption of household water.
If the pump will not be used for an extended period
(6 months or more), we recommend it be disconnected
from the piping system, emptied of water, and stored in a
cool, dry location.

fittings separately.
Winterization
If the pump needs to be winterized, drain water from the
pump as follows:
1. Remove the plug from the outlet.
2. Shut off the water supply.
3. Disconnect all pipes from the pump.
4. Remove the plug on the bottom of the pump and
drain all water from the pump. Replace the plug and
store the pump in a cool dry place.
To return the pump to service, ensure the plug is in place
before reconnecting the pump to the system.
