Spin Speed - Delay timer
These combined controls can be used to
set two functions: use the inner control to
set the final spin speed you require and
use the outer control to set the time at
which you want the washing programme
to beéin.
Spin control
The higher the spin speed you select, the
less residual moisture there will be in the
laundry.
If you intend to dry the laundry in a tum-
ble dryer, select the maximum possible
spin speed in order to save energy when
tumble drying.
In the easy-care and woollens programme
the maximum spin speed is automatically
limited to 900 revolutions per minute
(rpm) in order to protect the laundry and
in the delicates programme it is limited to
650 rpm.
Similarly, in the special programme 'short
spin' the maximum spin speed is limited
to 900 rpm.
If you set the control to 'no spin' R, the
machine will not spin throughout the
entire washing programme and the water
will only be pumped off at the end. Thh
applies for all programmes.
Delay timer *
To set the delay timer, set the required
programme on the programme selector,
select one or more additional functions as
required and set the spin speed to the
appropriate final spin speed. Set the
starting time on the combined spin/delay
timer controls and then press the start
button.
The advantages of using this function are
as follows:
In the cottons programme selecting a de-
layed starting time is linked with the pre-
wash soak, which means that as soon as
the start button is pressed the drum fills
up with water. (Remember to put the
washing detergent in when you set the
delay timer!). The drum will then turn
the laundry over in the cold soapy water
at regular intervals until the selected pro-
gramme commences. When the delay
time has elapsed, the preselected pro-
gramme will begin automatically.
If you want to respect the environment
and do your washing economically, select
the pre-wash soak function instead of the
pre-wash, because then the main washing
cycle will use the soapy water used for the
pre-wash soak, enabling you to save the
water, washing detergent and energy for
the pre-wash.
If you have cheap electricity rates at
night, you can easily use this function and
make additional savings.
