If you experience
any of tile lollowing
dil_]culties
while using tile system, use this
troubleshooting
guide to help remedy the
problem bel\lre requesting
repairs. Should ally
problem persist, consult your nearest Sony
dealer. When bringing the system in li_/rrepairs,
be sure to bring ill the entire system.
General
The power is not turned on
• Check that the AC power cord (mains lead)
is connected
securely.
If "PROTECTOR" and "PUSH POWER"
appears alternately in the front panel display.
Press I/(_) to turn off the system, and check
the following
item afler "STANDBY"
disappears.
• ls anything hlocking
the ventilation
holes of
the system?
After checking
the above item and fixing
any problems, turn on the system. If tile
cause of the problem cannot he found even
afler checking
tile above item, consult your
nearest Sony dealer.
Dolby Digital or DTS multi channel sound is
not reproduced.
• Check that tbe playing Blu-ray Disc, DVD,
etc., is recorded
ill Dolby Digital or DTS
lormat.
• Check that audio setting (settings lor the
audio output) of' the connected
component.
The surround effect cannot be obtained,
• Install the active suhwoofer
allowing
lora
space of at least 30 cm (12 inches) or more
on the active subwoofer's
right side
(page 7).
• Depending on the digital signal, the
surround processing
may not work
(page 20).
No sound or only a very low-level sound is
heard from the speakers.
• Press MASTER
VOL + and check the
vohune level.
• Press MUTING
or MASTER
VOL + to
cancel the muting limction.
• Press SOUND FIELD and check the
selected sound field.
• Depending on the source, the sound efti:ct of
the speakers
may be less noticeable.
The sound is delayed compared to the image
of the TV.
• Set "A/V SYNC'
to "OFF" when "A/V
SYNC" is set to "ON."
Connected
components
There is no sound or only a very low-level
sound no matter which component is selected,
• Check that this system and colnp(meuts
are
connected
correctly
and securely.
• Check that both fl_is system and the selected
component
are turned
on.
There is no sound from the selected
component,
• Check that tile component
is connected
correctly
to the audio input jacks lot that
component.
• Check that tile cords are fidly inserted into
the jacks on both the component
and this
system.
• Check that the component
is selected
correctly.
• If you resume play a disc when volume is
maxinmm,
there may be no sound. In this
case, turn down the volnme, turn off the
system and turn oil again.
Sound is interrupted or there is noise.
• Check the output audio t_)rmats supported
by this system on page 38.
There is no picture on the TV screen.
• Check that tile TV is selected correctly.
• Set the TV to the appropriate
input mode.
