Operation
Woks
Woks to be used on the induction
cooktop must be free of sharp edges or
burs.
Use only woks approved for induction cooktops.
Normally, this is indicated by the pan manufacturer
on the packaging.
Woks with bases that are magnetic (test with
a magnet) are normally suitable for use on
induction cooktops. We recommend testing
this with a magnet before purchasing a wok.
Your appliance automatically detects suitable
woks.
► Put the wok on the cooking zone and turn on
the cooking zone.
─ If the power level that has been set remains
in the display, the cooking pot is suitable.
─ If a saucepan or pot that is too small or
made of unsuitable material is placed on the
cooktop, the v symbol is displayed.
Bei The maximum power level for woks with
plastic coating (e.g. Teflon) is 7. Otherwise
you risk overheating and damaging the
coating.
While on the cooktop, there might be some
unusual noise from the pot or pan. This is normal
and does not in any way affect the function of the
appliance.
Your wok must be made of a material
which loses its magnetic properties with
increasing temperature (Curie effect).
If you use a different wok, you risk the
overheating and burning of oil or the
food to be cooked!
We
recommend
Demeyere.
BORA Lüftungstechnik GmbH can supply
suitable Demeyere woks on request.

Safety functions
Automatic safety shut-off
The appliance is equipped with a time monitoring
system for the cooking zones. This system
automatically switches off the cooking zone after a
set operating time, irrespective of the selected
power
level. The table below shows the timer
settings.

limit in hours
─ If the cooking zone has been switched off by
the time monitoring system, the H and 0
symbols flash alternately on the respective
display.
The cooking zone can be switched on as
normal.
Cooking zone overtemperature protection
The cooking zone is equipped with an over-
temperature sensor. If the sensor is triggered, the
cooktop
automatically
measures:
■ The cooling fan is switched to maximum speed
as long as the temperature is too high. If the
cooking zone is set to high power level, it is
switched off.
─ The P symbol changes to 9.
■ If this is not sufficient to cool down the cooking
zone, it is switched off.
─ The H symbol is displayed on the respective
display.
Make sure that you do not place an
excessively large cooking pot on the front
cooking zone, because otherwise the high
radiant temperatures of the cooking pot can
lead to premature switching-off of the
cooking field.
Keeping buttons pressed
If one or more buttons are kept pressed or
simultaneously pressed (e.g. by a pot placed on
the buttons by accident) no switching function
takes place.
─ The symbol s flashes and a time-limited
continuous signal tone sounds.
─ After a few seconds, the appliance is
switched off.
► Remove object from the buttons.
► To delete the symbol s, press the same button
or switch the cooking field on and off.
