Special safety instructions
for working with wire
brushes
a) Be aware that the wire brushes
also lose wire pieces during typi-
cal use. Do not overload the wi-
res by pressing down too hard.
Flyingwirepiecescanveryeasilypenet-
rate thin clothing and/or your skin.
b) If a protective hood is recom-
mended, do not allow the wire
brushes and the protective hood
to touch each other. Thediameter
of plate and cup brushes can enlarge if
too much pressure and centrifugal force
is exerted.
Additional safety
instructions
• Onlyusegrindingdiscswherethein-
dicated rotational speed is at least as
highaswhathasbeenspecifiedonthe
nameplateofthedevice.
• Carryoutavisualinspectionofthe
grinding disc before use. Do not use
any damaged or deformed grinding
discs. Replace any damaged or worn
grinding discs.
• Makesurethatthesparksproducedby
grinding do not present a danger, e.g.
reachpeopleorigniteflammablesubs-
tances.
• Alwayswearsafetygoggles,safety
gloves,respiratoryprotectionandear
protection when grinding, brushing and
cutting.
• Neverkeepthefingersbetweenthe
grinding disc and spark protection or in
closeproximitytotheprotectivehoods.
Thereisariskofcrushing.
• Therotatingpartsofthedevicecannot
becoveredduetofunctionalreasons.
Therefore,proceedcautiouslyandhold
theworkpiecefirmlyinordertoavoid
slipping which could cause your hands to
come into contact with the grinding disc.
• Theworkpiecegetshotduringgrinding.
Do not touch the machined area, allow
ittocooldown.Thereisariskofbur-
ning. Do not use coolants or the like.
• Ifyouaretiredorhaveconsumedal-
cohol or tablets, do not work with the
device.Alwayshaveabreakontime.
• Switchoffthedeviceandremovethe
batteryfromthedevice
- toloosenablockedinsertiontool,
- iftheconnectionlineisdamagedor
entangled,
- incaseofunusualsounds.
• WhenusingaguardcoveroftypeA
(cuttingguardcover)forsidegrinding,
the guard and the workpiece may interfe-
rewitheachother,resultingininsufficient
control.
• WhenusingaguardcoveroftypeB
(grindingguardcover)forcut-offgrin-
dingwithbondedcut-offwheels,there
is an increased risk of being exposed to
the ejected sparks and grinding partic-
les as well as fragments of the grinding
wheelintheeventofagrindingwheel
breakage.
• WhenusingaguardcoveroftypeA
guardcover(cuttingguardcover)or
typeB(grindingguardcover)forcut-off
or side grinding in concrete or mason-
ry, there is an increased risk due to
dust exposure as well as loss of control
with kickback as a consequence.
• WhenusingaguardcoveroftypeA
(cuttingguardcover)ortypeB(grin-
dingguardcover)withawheelbrush
thickerthanthemaximumspecified,the
