Assembly
See Fig. 1, page 3.
Assembling the grinder stand:
1. Place column (3) together with plate (5) on the
base plate (6) and secure by tightening the two
screws (4) firmly.
Installing the angle grinder:
2. Place the angle grinder in the grinder stand as
shown.
3. Insert screw (17) into the thread on the gear
housing of the angle grinder.
4. Insert the bearing screw (11) loosely into the
thread on the gear housing of the angle grinder
from below. DO NOT TIGHTEN YET
5. Insert the lever (9) loosely into the thread on the
gear housing of the angle grinder from above.
DO NOT TIGHTEN YET
Aligning the angle grinder (angle):
6. Swivel the angle grinder downwards and align
so that the parting grinder disc is parallel with
the gap (15) in the base plate (6).
7. Insert the screw (7) until it touches the angle
grinder.
8. Insert the screw (18) until it touches the angle
grinder.
9. Tighten the lock nut on the screw (7).
10. Tighten the lock nut on the screw (18).
11. Insert a hexagon spanner in the screw (17) and
hold firmly to prevent from turning. Screw on
the nut (19) resting against the grinder stand.
12. Tighten the nut (16).
13. Tighten the bearing screw (11) (below).
14. Insert (9) the hexagon spanner in the hole on
the shank of the lever (9) and tighten.
Aligning the angle grinder (position in the gap):
15. Slacken the screw (8).
16. Shift the top section of the grinder stand to the
left or right. The cutting disc should be posi-
tioned in the centre of the gap (15).
17. Tighten the screw (8).
Adjusting the spring force
The spring force holds the angle grinder in the
upper position to preventing it from lowering auto-
matically.
18. Slacken the screw (8).
19. Insert the hexagon spanner in the gap (1) and
turn to adjust to the required pretension
setting.
20. Tighten the screw (8).
Spark deflector plate
21. The spark deflector plate (10) can be swivelled
to one side. During work, the spark deflector
plate (10) must always be engaged and stand
upright.
10
Longitudinal stop
22. Slide in the longitudinal stop (12) (with the
contact surface facing up) and attach to the
base plate (13)using the screw. (6)Slacken the
screw to change the position of the stop or
make adjustments.
6 Use
Read the operating instructions supplied
with the angle grinder.
All screws must be screwed tight.
The spark deflector plate (10) must be
engaged and stand upright.
The parting grinder disc must not touch the
work bench when lowered!
Contact with the bench will generate forces that
cause the machine and the grinder stand to shift in
the direction of the user. The work bench will suffer
damage and the parting grinder disc may seize
and break or cause kickback.
The grinder stand must be secured to the
work bench as described in chapter 5.1.
6.1
Vice
Clamp the workpiece tightly in the vice (14).
Long workpieces must be sufficiently
supported.
Adjusting the cutting angle:
- Slacken the screw (20).
- Lift the catch (21).
- Set the desired cutting angle by turning the stop
(22). The catch (21) engages at the angle settings
0°, 15°, 30° and 45°.
- Tighten the screw (20).
Clamp the workpiece:
- Swivel the spark deflector plate (10) to one side
if necessary. Swivel the clamping lever (24) to the
right (clamping jaw (23) is released).
- Insert the workpiece.
- Slide the clamping jaw (23) towards the work-
piece and clamp the workpiece.
- Swivel the clamping lever (24) to the left
(clamping jaw is tightened).
- Move the spark deflector plate (10) to an upright
position and engage.
6.2
Cutting through a workpiece
• The spark deflector plate (10) must be engaged
and stand upright.
• Do not begin cutting until the machine has
reached its maximum speed.
