Proceed as described above. After having rotated the upper laser to the direction requested first,
rotate the scale in a way, that 0° is according to this direction.
Then proceed rotating the laser up to the second direction requested. Check the angle on the scale.
Note:
For correct control the scale must be placed at zero with the laser line being vertically arranged.
(In case of a levelled apparatus, the laser line of the upper laser is a plumb line, only if it is paral-
lelly placed to the line of the lower laser).
7.5 Applications with Horizontal Lines
Examples:
• Water level function for control of the pelvic position (fig. 3).
• Water level function for knee joint axes (fig. 5).
• Water level function for control of the shoulder position (fig. 7)
Method:
By turning the upper laser to the horizontal position (90°) a level line is obtained. Now move La-
serLine along the stand until the horizontal line has reached the requested height.
LaserLine provides alignment analysis for orthopedic appliances. Heights, displacements and
angles serve the illustration and documentation of abnormal positions and therapy results.
8 Maintenance and Repair
The apparatus requires no special maintenance work. If the LaserLine functions are not accor-
ding to your expectations, it may be possible to correct these by one of the following measures.
Otherwise, please contact your Ottobock Service Workshop.
8.1 Unfocused Projection of Lines
In case the apparatus does not project sharp lines, clean the lenses carefully using a cotton bud
soaked with pure alcohol. If the defect cannot be eliminated in this way, the apparatus should be
returned to the supplier.
8.2 Lasers do not Light
Charge the apparatus using the enclosed charger. Remove the charger plug from the charging
socket (1). The lasers cannot be operated as long as the charger is connected.
8.3 Replacement of Defective Accumulators
Defective accumulators can be replaced after 4 hexagon screws of the bottom cover have been
loosened. Make sure that during exchange the cables are not damaged, that polarity of the ac-
cumulators are as indicated on the accumulator pack, and that the plug connection at the accu-
mulator pack is correctly reinstalled. Use only 625B4 Ottobock Accumulator Pack. Do not use
non-rechargeable batteries.
