• Assembly with block assembly kit (without air preparation unit): see g Fig. 7.
Procedure
Assembly option with mounting bracket
1. Check the flow direction that is indicated on the marking on the product.
2. Align the product observing the flow direction of the measuring medium (in-
put left, output right).
3. Mount the device combination or flow sensor with a mounting bracket.
4. Pressurize the line section.
5. Check the installation for tightness and correct functioning.

6.3.2 Connecting the electrical system
Before you start connecting the electrical system, familiarize yourself with the
protective measures. See
g 6.2.3 Implementing safety
The variant with IO-Link features one of the following options:
• Two switch outputs
• One IO-Link communication
• Two analog outputs
The switch outputs at contacts 5 and 4 can be used as type NO, NC and wired ac-
cordingly. See
g 13. Technical
data.
Depending on the variant, the flow sensor has one of the following connections
for power supply and outputs at the top:
• IO-Link variant:
5-pin M12x1 port. See
g 6.3.2.1 Connection with 5-pin M12
• Ethernet variant:
8-pin M12x1 port. See
g 6.3.2.2 Connection with 8-pin M12
Notes
• Use AVENTICS series CON-RD, M12x1 connecting cables for connection.
• Observe the correct supply voltage (material protection).
• Protection class III electric insulation (material protection).
• Ensure that data lines are routed properly:
– Ensure that shielded data lines with twisted pair wires are used.
– Ensure that a proper and complete shielding concept is implemented.
– Avoid interference, e.g. from switched-mode power supplies, motors,
timed regulators and contactors: Ensure that cables are laid and wired in
an EMC-compliant manner.
– Ensure that cables are not laid in parallel with power supply cables and mo-
tor cables in cable conduits over a longer distance.
• Comply with degree of protection IP65 and IP67.
The IP65 and IP67 degree of protection is maintained for the product only un-
der the following conditions:
– The round plug connector is fastened.
Connection with 5-pin M12 plug
Procedure
1. Screw the M12x1 plug of the CON-RD connecting cable to the port (see
g Fig. 2).
If the port is not used, maintain IP65 degree of protection for the housing:
Cover the port with a cap.
2. Connect the cable in accordance with its function.
3. Apply the supply voltage.
