Connection with 8-pin M12 plug
Procedure
1. Screw the M12x1 plug of the CON-RD connecting cable to the port (see
g Fig. 2).
If the port is not used, maintain IP65 degree of protection for the housing:
Cover the port with a cap.
2. Connect the cable in accordance with its function.
3. Apply the supply voltage.
ð The display indicates the current measuring value.
ð After the standby delay has elapsed (approx. 1 s), the product is in run mode
(normal operating mode).

7.3 Step-by-step commissioning
Procedure
Apply operating voltage.
u
INFO: The product has no main switch. The product is switched on and opera-
tional as soon as the product is connected to mains voltage. To switch off: Dis-
connect the product from the power supply.
Pressurize the system part to which the product is connected.
u
ð The sensor runs a self-test and is operational afterwards. The measuring value
menu is displayed.
Limited precision on IO-Link variant
Using the Q1 and Q2 digital outputs simultaneously with the Qa and
Q2 analog outputs may lead to limitations in the precision of the ana-
log outputs.
8 Operation
The device is operated through the system. Observe the information in the sys-
tem documentation.
For information on configuration, refer to the system description.
8.1 Basic requirements
General requirements
• Operation only with protected low voltage (material protection).
• Never switch off, modify or bypass safety devices.
• Do not change the product, otherwise the calibration will be invalidated.
• Do not touch the product or any connected parts during operation.
In case of malfunctions during operation
• In case of a malfunction that presents an immediate danger for employees or
systems: Switch off product.
9 Service
9.1 Inspection
9.1.1 General requirements
Use in normal ambient conditions
• Inspection interval: The product must be checked monthly for contamination
and damage.
Use in aggressive ambient conditions
Aggressive ambient conditions include, for example:
• High temperatures
• Heavy accumulation of dirt
• Proximity to grease-dissolving liquids or vapors
Aggressive ambient conditions lead to further requirements for inspection:
• Adapt the inspection interval for seals to the ambient conditions.
9.1.2 Preparation
Implement safety measures. See
u
9.1.3 Procedure
Visual inspection
Visually inspect for integrity.
u
Detailed inspection
• Identifications and warnings on the product: The system owner has to replace
labels or warnings that are difficult to read immediately.
• Check the seals.
• Check to make sure that all fittings are properly connected.
• Check the safety devices on the system.
g 6.2.3 Implementing safety
measures.
