Information on the extraction system, intended
use
Intended use
OPT/i FumeEx is intended solely for the extraction of welding fumes. It must be
used with Fronius MIG/MAG welding torches and a sufficiently powerful extrac-
tion unit. Operation without a sufficiently powerful extraction unit is not permit-
ted. Any other use is deemed to be not in accordance with the intended purpose.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage resulting from improper
use.

Reading these Operating Instructions in their entirety
Following all instructions and safety rules in these Operating Instructions
Carrying out all the specified inspection and maintenance work
Extraction capacity of at least 80 m
-
if the value is lower, there is a risk that the welding fumes will not be
completely extracted
-
a higher value means there is a risk that shielding gas will be unintentio-
nally sucked off the weld seam
Depending on the length of the extraction hose, a negative pressure of at
least 13000 Pa (130 mbar) must be generated
-
the shorter the extraction hose and the greater the inner diameter of the
hose, the smaller the extraction unit can be dimensioned
-
the following table shows the recommended negative pressure depen-
ding on the extraction hose length

the following diagram shows the relationship between the volumetric
flow and the negative pressure generated in the welding torch (= extrac-
tion characteristic curve)
