Preparation
1. Inspect the area in which the machine will be used
thoroughly and remove all foot mats, sledges,
boards, cables and other foreign objects.
2. Do not operate the machine without wearing appro-
priate winter clothing. Avoid wearing very loose
clothing that could get caught in moving parts. Wear
shoes that assist with preventing slipping on slip-
pery surfaces.
3. Always wear safety goggles or eye protection
during operation or when performing adjustments or
repairs in order to protect your eyes from foreign
objects that may be ejected by the machine.
4. Never attempt to adjust the machine while the mo-
tor is running.
Operation
1. Do not move your hands or feet near or below rotat-
ing parts. Always keep away from all ejection open-
ings.
2. Proceed with extreme caution when operating close
to or on grit or gravel paths. Pay attention to hidden
dangers when operating the machine close to public
roads.
3. If you have encountered a foreign object, stop the
motor, remove the batteries, inspect the snow blow-
er for possible damage and repair this damage be-
fore restarting and operating the snow blower again.
4. If the machine begins to vibrate abnormally, stop
the motor and check immediately for the cause of
the vibration. Vibrations are generally a warning
sign pointing to faults.
5. Stop the motor when leaving the operating position,
before clearing blockages from the collector/wheel
housing or the ejector chute, and when you want to
perform repairs adjustments or inspections.
6. Proceed with extreme caution on slopes.
7. Never operate the snow blower without the proper
guards and other protective equipment in place and
in good working order.
8. Never direct the ejector towards people or areas
where damage to property could result. Keep away
from children and other people.
9. Do not overload the capacity of the machine by try-
ing to clear the snow too quickly.
10. Never operate the machine at high speeds on slip-
pery surfaces. Look behind you and proceed with
caution when working in reverse.
11. Switch the product off if the snow blower is to be
transported or is not in use.
12. Only use additional equipment and accessories ap-
proved by the snow blower manufacturer.
13. Never operate the snow blower without good visibili-
ty and lighting. Always ensure stability and hold the
handles tight. Always walk, never run.
14. Never touch the hot motor.
Removing blockages from the ejector chute
Contact between hands and the rotating wheel in the
ejector chute is the most common cause of injuries
when working with snow blowers. Never use your
hands to clear the ejector chute.
To clean the ejector chute:
1. Switch the product off!
2. Wait for 10 seconds in order to ensure that the
wheel's cutters are no longer rotating.
3. Always use a clearing tool and not your hands.
Maintenance and storage
1. Check that shear bolts and screws are tight at regu-
lar intervals, in order to ensure that the machine is
in safe operating condition.
2. Always consult the operating manual for important
details if the snow blower is to be stored for an ex-
tended period of time.
3. Maintain or replace the safety labels as required.
4. Allow the machine to run for a few minutes after
blowing the snow in order to prevent the collector/
wheel freezing.
When cleaning, repairing or inspecting the snow blow-
er, stop the motor and ensure that the collector/wheel
and all moving parts are no longer moving. Remove the
batteries in order to prevent anyone starting the motor
inadvertently.
Residual risks
The product has been built according to state-of-
the-art and the recognised technical safety rules.
However, individual residual risks can arise during
operation.
• Personal injury and damage to property due to
snow or foreign objects present in the snow being
ejected.
• Injuries due to reaching into the running roller.
• Damage to hearing if the stipulated hearing protec-
tion is not worn.
• Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety In-
structions" and the "Intended Use" together with the
operating manual as a whole are observed.
• Use the product in the way that is recommended in
this operating manual. This is how to ensure that
your product provides optimum performance.
• Furthermore, despite all precautions having been
met, some non-obvious residual risks may still re-
main.
