Safety instructions
General
Fit the electrical connection for the RECARO seat as per
these instructions.
RECARO accepts no liability for the seat if the seat,
adaptation or vehicle floor assembly is modified.
Any modification to our product will not only exclude any
liability but will also void the warranty. This also applies if
non-permitted components are used.
DANGER
Risk of electric shock!
An improperly fitted electrical connection can cause
short-circuits.
If this happens, it could ignite a fire inside your
vehicle and pose a significant risk to your safety,
health and even your life in the worst case.
If you do not have the required knowledge and
tools, you must have the seat and electrical
connections fitted by a specialist workshop.
It takes care, patience and precision to install
a seat. Before commencing installation, ensure
that you have parked the vehicle safely and
that you maintain a sure footing at all times
when carrying out the work.
Validity of these installation instructions
These installation instructions are valid for the types of
RECARO seats listed on the cover page.
Installation parts
Take the required installation parts from the accompany-
ing polythene bag.
The connection to the vehicle electrical system depends
on the vehicle type. The accompanying connection parts
will fit the majority of vehicle types.
Preparation
WARNING
Unintentional triggering of airbags and belt
tensioners!
Serious injuries caused by flying parts.
Remove the ignition key and do not re-insert it until
refitting has been completed.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal and leave
the battery disconnected until refitting has been
completed.
Before starting work, wait for 20 minutes so that the
capacitors in the belt tensioners' and airbags' con-
trol units have time to discharge.
