Inspect and Replace Bypass Poppet
1. Remove the dispensing hose and 90 degree street elbow from pump outlet
port.
2. Remove the gear coverplate and gears.
3. Using an index finger, push the poppet assembly downward through the
outlet port, and then remove the O-ring using an O-ring puller
(see Figure 5).
4. Remove the bypass poppet and spring. Inspect for damage and replace as
needed (see Figure 6).
5. Clean bypass cavity with a clean cloth.
6. Wipe the gear cavity with a clean cloth.
7. Replace the gears. Make sure they turn freely.
8. Make sure the gear coverplate O-ring is securely in place. Tighten the
coverplate to the housing.
