Notes on use
− Test comparisons should only be performed if the mea-
surement is taken on the same arm, in the same position
and at the same time of the day.
− Morning time or any time you feel relaxed and stress-free
is the best for measurements.
− Always measure blood pressure in a calm and relaxed
state, not right after a large meal.
− Do not measure your blood pressure if you are hot or
cold, only do so when your body temperature is normal if
possible.
− Do not stand during measurements. Sit or lie down in a
relaxed position and keep your arm level with your heart
(see Fig. 3 on page 36).
− Do not move and do not speak while performing a mea-
surement.
− Avoid eating, working out or taking a bath 30 minutes
before the test.
− Give the circulatory system about five minutes to calm
down each time before a measurement is made.
− If the measurements are not plausible, repeat the mea-
surement.
− Wait at least five minutes before taking another measure-
ment for the same person.
− The results of the blood pressure measurements are for
information only and are no substitute for a medical exam-
ination. Do not make any medical decisions based on your
own measurements (e.g. with respect to taking medication
or their dosage). Consult your physician if you have ques-
tions about the measurements.
− Do not use this blood pressure monitor to perform any mea-
surements on preeclampsia patients or newborn babies.
