Cleaning operations
9.5
9.5.1 General instructions
In order to have a perfectly hygienic and efficient
appliance, a few simple cleaning tasks are required. The
instructions provided here apply when the machine is
being used on a regular basis. If the machine is constantly
being used, then cleaning should be performed more
frequently.
Do not use alkaline detergents, solvents, alcohol or aggressive
substances. The products/ cleaners that are used have to be
suitable for this purpose and must not corrode the hydraulic
circuit materials.
Do not use abrasive detergents which may scratch the surface of
the body.
Always use clean and sanitised cloths when cleaning.
For washing the filters, filter holders and all machine components,
use Manufacturer-supplied cleaners or products specific for
cleaning professional coffee machines.

Cleaning
Cappuccino maker:
Clean at least once a day or more often if the cappuccino
maker is used constantly, by following the instructions in
para. 9.5.2 on page 85.
Body and Grilles:
Clean the panels of the body with a cloth dampened in
lukewarm water.
Remove the drip tray and cup holder grille and wash with
hot water.
Push button and display:
Clean the push button and display with a specific deter-
gents. Before cleaning turn off the machine.
Raised cup grilles:
Unclip the grilles by putting them
in a horizontal position and
pulling firmly outwards.
Clean with a cloth dampened in
lukewarm water. Reinsert the trays in their housing.
Filter and filter holder:
Wash the filters and filter holders daily and weekly, as
indicated in par. 9.5.3 on page 85.
Steam wand and autosteamer:
Keep the nozzle clean at all times using a cloth dampened
in lukewarm water.
Check and clean the nozzle tips, by clearing the steam
outlet holes with a small needle.
Weekly wash as described in par. 9.5.7 on page 86.
Dispensing group:
Wash the dispensing unit following the instructions of par.
9.5.4 or 9.5.5.
Carry out an internal cleaning on a weekly basis, as speci-
fied in par. 9.5.6 on page 86 .
Grinder-dispenser and Hopper:
Clean the hopper and the dispenser inside and out with a
cloth dampened with warm water.
When finished, dry all parts thoroughly.
