Running-in period
The speaker drivers used in the Aria K2 loudspeakers are complex mechanical assemblies which need a break-in period to
operate at their best and to become acclimatised to the temperature and humidity of your environment. This running-in period
varies depending on the conditions in question and may take several weeks. To reduce this time, we recommend operating
your loudspeakers for about twenty consecutive hours. Once the loudspeakers' characteristics have totally stabilised, you will
be able to enjoy your Aria K2 loudspeakers' performance to the full.
Features
Aluminium / magnesium alloy inverted dome TNF tweeter: the tweeter developed for the Aria K2 range of products uses
Focal's exclusive inverse dome technology, which enables optimum transfer of energy and limited directionality. The dome's
aluminium/magnesium alloy guarantees exceptional performance in terms of rigidity and dampening. The mechanical
properties of the new Poron surround, an open-cell micro-cellular urethane polymer, provide many advantages: excellent
dimensional stability, no degradation over time. The benefit of Poron on this tweeter is clear in terms of linearity and lower
distortion. The result is a more silky, precise sound, with greater harmonic richness. The tweeter mount incorporates a
waveguide that maximises horizontal directivity and minimises diffraction.
Subwoofers and midrange with K2 membrane (Aramid fibre): Aramid fibre is a fabric with impressive mechanical properties:
lightweight, rigid and well-cushioned for increased precision and incredible dynamism.
Protective grille with magnetic attachment: easy to install, more modern design.
Powerflow system: air velocity in the vents is halved compared with traditional technology. No dynamic compression in the bass.
Vent profile: powerful bass with no distortion.
High-efficiency acoustic wadding: excellent internal damping, sustained and deeper bass. Reliable, versatile cable connections,
high tightening torque. Spikes supplied.
Fastening the base to the speaker
To attach the base to the speaker, turn the speaker upside down so it is resting on its top (resting on the packing block), taking
care not to damage the cabinet/glass plate or the speaker drivers during the procedure. Place the base onto the speaker and
position the 4 screws provided. Tighten them using the Allen key (fig. A).
Connections
The connectors provide reliable, multi-purpose contacts for stripped cables (up to 1/8" - 4mm diameter) or fork terminals.
The banana terminals are blocked to comply with the electrical and connection standards in force in certain countries. Do not
remove the plastic caps.
It is imperative that you respect the polarity of the loudspeakers. The connector marked '+' must be connected to the positive
output on the amplifier, and the connector marked '-' must be connected to the negative terminal (fig. B). Stereo image and
bass perception will be drastically compromised if these conditions are not respected.
