Exterior iron surface
After unplugging and allowing the iron to cool down, simply wipe it with a damp cloth and, if
necessary, use a mild detergent.
Warning: do not use aggressive cleaners.
Soleplate
Starch and other types of residues can be easily removed from the soleplate with a damp
-
cloth.
To avoid scratching the finish, never use a metal scouring pad to clean the soleplate or
-
place the iron on a rough surface. If synthetic fabrics are ironed at too high a temperature,
not only can the fabric be damaged, but it's possible for the iron soleplate to be covered
with the synthetic fabric's melted residue. The best way to remove synthetic residues from
the soleplate is to heat up the iron and iron an old cotton cloth.
WARNING:
Never use iron cleaners as they may damage the working parts of the iron.
Self-cleaning
IMPORTANT: Your iron will give the best ironing results and last longer by auto-cleaning once a
month or more depending on usage.
1. Fill half of the water tank with water and leave the steam selector in off position.
2. Place the iron upright.
3. Plug the iron.
4. Turn the temperature adjustment knob to the "MAX" position.
5. Allow the iron to heat up until the indicator light turns off.
6. Unplug the iron from the socket.
7. Hold the iron horizontally over the sink.
8. Hold down the auto-clean button: hot water and steam will come out of the holes in the
soleplate. Move the iron forwards and backwards; keep letting steam and water out until
the water tank is empty.
9. Turn the steam knob to the "0" position.
10. Plug the iron.
11. Turn the temperature adjustment knob to the "MAX" position and let the iron heat up again:
the rest of the water inside the tank will vaporise and come out of the iron through the
soleplate.
During this dry steaming process, it is advisable to use a piece of old cloth.
