When the handset is in idle state

Open the directory.

Press briefly: set handset
ringer tones (page 18).
Press and hold: initiate voice-
activated dialling (page 13).
In the main menu and in input fields
Use the control key to move the cursor
up t, down s, right v or left u.
In lists and submenus

Scroll up/down line by line.

Open submenu or confirm
selection.

Go back a menu level or can-
cel.
During an external call

Open the directory.

Open menu.

Initiate an internal enquiry
(consultation).

Adjust loudspeaker volume for
earpiece and handsfree mode.
Display keys
The functions for the display keys change
depending on the situation. Example:

Press the display key underneath to launch
the function.

Return to idle status
You can return to idle status from any-
where in the menu as follows:

Press the end call key a and hold.
Or:
¤
Press no key: After 2 minutes the dis-
play will return automatically to its idle
status.
Changes which you have not confirmed/
stored by pressing
with Save Entry

Your telephone's functions are accessed in
a menu that has a number of levels.
Main menu (first menu level)
With the handset in idle status, press v to
open the main menu.
The main menu functions are shown in
the display as coloured icons.
Operating the phone
Left display key, providing it
has still not been assigned a
function (page 16).
Open the main menu or a
context-dependent menu.
Delete key: delete from right
to left one character at a time.
Go back a menu level or cancel
procedure.
Open e-mail directory.
Open the directory.
Copy number to directory.
On bases with built-in answer-
ing machine: forward external
call to the answering machine.
Open the last number redial
list (base-dependent).
