PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The foot-operated vice is used as a clamping device for large workpieces while they are being processed. With its high lifting capacity,
large jaw spacing range and light weight, it can be used in any workshop. The option to fold allows easy storage of the product. The
correct, reliable, and safe operation of the appliance depends on its proper use, therefore:
Read the entire manual before the fi rst use of the appliance and keep it for future reference.
The supplier shall not be liable for any damage resulting from failure to comply with the safety instructions and recommendations
specifi ed in this instructions manual.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Do not work with a damaged or faulty vice. If damage is observed, further use must be stopped until it is eliminated.
Always place the vice on a level, fl at and fi rm surface. The vice must stand fi rmly on the ground. The feet of all legs must be in contact
with the ground with the entire surface. Ensure that all legs are locked when unfolded. There are holes in the feet of the double legs
to secure the vice to the ground.
Never stand or sit on a vice. The vice must not be used as a seat, platform, etc.
Make sure that no parts of the body or clothing are caught by the moving parts of the vice before clamping. The clamping of body parts
by a vice can lead to serious injuries.
The foot lever should be pressed with one foot guided in a smooth motion. Do not kick, jump or press the lever with both feet.
Separate supports, chucks, clamps, etc. should be used if the vice will be used to clamp long workpieces which, when immobilised
between the jaws, could lead to a loss of stability of the vice. Long pieces should be supported on both sides of the vice.
PRODUCT ACCESSORIES
The product is delivered complete, but disassembly is required. No tools are required for disassembly.
Preparing the product for operation
After removing the product from the packaging and removing all packaging material, place the product on a fl at, level and fi rm surface
(I). Check that the product has not been damaged in transit. If any damage is observed, e.g. in the form of cracks, dents or rust, the
disassembly and further use of the product should be discontinued.
Turn the product upside down (II). Loosen the single leg locking knob by unscrewing it counter-clockwise (III). Remove the locking
device from the end of the leg (IV), then unfold the single leg as far as it will go (V) and lock it in this position by tightening the locking
knob fi rmly and securely in a clockwise direction.
Unfold the foot lever (VI). The foot lever has been fi tted with a latching mechanism. A properly extended foot lever cannot be folded
other than by pulling and holding the latch (VII) in this position and then folding the leg.
Spread both double legs (VIII). Each leg is fi tted with a latching mechanism. A correctly unfolded leg cannot be folded other than by
moving the arrow-shaped latch and holding it in that position to fold the leg.
Set the vice on its legs. The vice is ready for use.
USE OF THE VICE
There is a lock at the end of the jaw guide that does not allow the movable jaw to be pulled apart. Turn the locking device so that the jaw
can be moved (IX). Ensure that the foot lever is unlocked, move the lock device button so that the open padlock symbol (X) is visible.
Then press the foot lever so that it returns to its rest position, and manually move the movable jaw (XI) so that the workpiece to be
clamped in the vice can be placed freely between the jaws. Place the workpiece as close as possible to the fi xed jaw.
Move the foot lever lock button so that the closed padlock symbol (X) is visible.
Pressing the foot lever with the foot brings the workpiece to rest between the jaws of the vice (XII).
To release the pressure of the jaws, unlock the foot lever, press the foot lever so that it returns to its rest position and then manually
move the movable jaw.
Caution! In order to achieve the full working range of the jaws, the movable jaw should be fully extended, rotated horizontally and slid
onto the vice base.
MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
Each time after work, the workstation should be cleaned with a soft cloth, brush or a jet of compressed air. Check the tightness of the
screw connections. Connections can come loose due to vibration during operation. Do not immerse the vice in water or any other liquid.
Lubricate movable component joints periodically with light machine oil. Apply the oil with a spray or brush. Wipe off excess oil. Store the
vice out of reach of the public and protected from sunlight and moisture. The storage area should be provided with effi cient ventilation
so that moisture does not accumulate. The vice can be transported unfolded at the work site for transport over longer distances, it is
advisable to fold the vice in the reverse order of unfolding.
