18 Push rod downward through upper
tube (24) until primer disk (41) protrudes
from primer body (43).
19 Remove roll pin (42) that secures primer
disk to primer rod (40).
20 Remove primer disk from primer rod.
21 Remove entire rod from top of
upper tube.
22 Remove roll pin (31) that secures primer
rod to piston (30).
23 Unscrew primer rod from piston.
24 For model 9911-1 only:
24.1 Remove roll pin (25) that secures
rod (12) to piston.
24.2 Unscrew piston from rod.
For all models except 9911-1:
24.1 Remove roll pin (25) that secures
rod (12) to extension (26).
24.2 Unscrew extension from rod.
Step for model 9979 only:
24.1 Remove roll pin (25) that secures
extension (26) to piston.
24.2 Unscrew piston from extension.
24.3 Remove roll pin (25) that secures
rod (12) to extension.
24.4 Unscrew extension from rod.
Step for model 9930 only:
24.1 Remove roll pin (25) that secures
rod (12) to piston.
24.2 Unscrew piston from rod.
25 From inside piston, remove spring
guide (27), spring (28), and ball (29).
26 Unscrew upper tube (24) from lower
tube (35). Use a strap wrench.
Lower tube
27 Remove gasket (34), bearing (32),
seal (33), and additional bearing (32)
from lower tube.
Primer body
28 Unscrew primer body (43) from lower
tube (35).
29 From inside lower tube, remove
gasket (34), seat (39), additional
gasket (34), foot valve (38) with seal (37),
and stop (36).
30 Remove seal (37) from foot valve.

Clean and inspect
1 Clean all metal parts in environmentally
safe cleaning solvent.
2 Inspect all parts for wear and/or damage.
3 Replace as necessary.
4 Inspect air piston (7) for fatigue cracks.
5 Replace as necessary.
6 Inspect rod (12), piston (30), and primer
rod (40) closely. Use a magnifying glass
to detect any score marks.
7 Replace as necessary.
8 Closely inspect mating surfaces of all
check valve components for any
imperfections. Make sure a smooth and
clean contact is obtained when
assembled.
Example: Place ball (29) into piston (30).
Fill piston with solvent. Make sure no
leakage occurs.
