onnecting the flexiBle shAft
The flexible shaft must be greased before it is con-
nected. See Section 4.1.2.
Pull the sleeve down to the stop.
Insert the shaft coupling completely into the machine
coupling. To do so, turn the shaft so that the squared end
is aligned with the receiver and can be inserted.
Release the machine coupling. The shaft is now secured.

Only SUHNER TURBO TRIM hand pieces
and ring cutters may be used. See the op-
erating instructions for the SUHNER TUR-
BO TRIM hand pieces SH or SHS for mounting and re-
moving the hand pieces and ring cutters.

uspension AttAchment for the hAnd piece
Only trained persons may use hand pieces. Operation re-
quires the greatest attention if the operator and others are
not to be injured. The machine can only be started if there
is no hand piece on the suspension attachment. The mo-
tor must first be switched OFF before the hand piece is in-
serted in the suspension attachment. The ring cutter must
be aligned towards the motor. Never leave the hand piece
lying on the work surface or hanging freely from the motor
housing with the flexible shaft.

Avoid sharp deflections on the flexible shaft while
it is operating. Overly small bend radii cause pre-
mature wear.

If the operating ring cutter stops against a foreign
body in the teeth, the motor and hand piece will
start rotating about their own axis! Immediately
switch OFF the machine! Before prolonged downtimes,
remove the shaft and hand piece and place the straight
