Description
WARNING
Explosion hazard!
A damaged flame path could lead to an explosion. Opening the flame detector
in an explosive atmosphere may cause an explosion.
► Do not open the flame detector in presence of an explosive atmosphere.
► Ensure that the flame path of the flame detector is not damaged during
installation.
CAUTION
Risk of damage to the device!
Incorrect disassembly of the flame detector may damage the device.
► Only appropriately trained service personnel may open the enclosure.

Intended use
The flame detector is designed for use in areas that may contain a potentially
explosive atmosphere.
It is used to monitor an area and trigger the necessary control actions upon the
detection of fire or flame within its field of view.

Limitations on use
The flame detector is not approved for use in oxygen-enriched
atmospheres.
As the flame detector responds to flame, it cannot be used in locations
where flare stacks and other open flames are within its field of view without
triggering false alarms.
The flame detector responds to CO
cannot detect non-hydrocarbon fires such as those burning pure hydrogen.
The flame detector may be obscured by extremely dense fog, smoke or
other airborne particulates.
Arc welding should not take place within 10 m of the flame detector when
using the highest sensitivity setting.
