5. Briefly press the SCAN button 2 and
gently move the probe head 5 in a
circular motion over the skin on the
temple (see figure H).
As you are doing this, you will hear a
sound that indicates the temperature is
being read.
Note: The time required to take the
temperature ranges from 5 to a maximum
of 8 seconds. This depends on how long
the device needs to determine the
correct temperature of the temples.
As soon as you hear a second
sound, the measuring process is
complete. The egg-timer symbol
is displayed and stops flashing after
about 4 seconds. Two short beeps
indicate that the result has been
determined.
6. The temperature taken is shown on the
LCD display 3.
The device automatically switches to
room temperature mode after approx.
one minute.
5.5 Measuring surface
temperatures
The thermometer has a
measuring range of -22.0
to
80.0 °C
176.0 °F) for measuring
the temperature of
surfaces. This enables you
to measure the surface temperature of
radiators, cooker hotplates, ovens or similar
surfaces, as well as liquids.
Note: Please note that steaming surfaces,
such as water, food or milk, for example,
may cause the sensor lens 4 to mist up,
resulting in a measurement which may be
inaccurate.
