∙ Remove the plug from the wall outlet
after use (the red indicator light goes
out).
∙ Do not leave any residual water in the
container.
Power cord wind-up storage
The wind-up power cord storage under the
base facilitates limiting the length of the
power cord during use and makes it easy
to store the appliance.
Descaling
∙ Depending on the water quality in your
area, lime deposits may build up on
the heating element. It is advisable to
remove any such deposits at regular
intervals.
∙ Any warranty claim will be null and
void if the appliance malfunctions
because of insufficient descaling.
∙ A mixture of 0.5 litres of water and 40 ml
of vinegar essence is suitable.
∙ Pour the descaler in.
∙ Switch the appliance on and let the
solution reach boiling point.
∙ Leave it to take effect for a short
period.
∙ To clean the container after descaling,
rinse thoroughly with clean water.
∙ During descaling, ensure sufficient
ventilation and do not inhale any vinegar
vapours.
∙ Do not pour descalers down enamel-
coated sinks.

Cleaning and care
∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it
is disconnected from the power supply
and has cooled down completely.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the kettle and the base with water
and do not immerse them in water. Do
not clean under running water.
∙ For cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-free
cloth may be used.
∙ Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions, and do not use hard brushes
for cleaning.
Scale filter
∙ If necessary, the scale filter can be
removed from the spout and cleaned
with a soft brush.
∙ To do this, push the lime filter upwards
by the filter grip. Now that the filter
bottom is released, you can remove
the filter.
∙ Re-insert the filter afterwards – hook it
on to the inside of the upper rim first,
and then push the lower part into place.
