Before operation
Carry out the following steps before each
operation. This will guarantee long and re-
liable use.
• Search the hedges and bushes for for-
eign objects, e.g. wire fences and hid-
den wires.
• Check the device before each use for
obvious defects such as loose, worn or
damaged parts. Ensure that the screws
in the safety cutter bar (1) are firmly in
place.
• Do not cut with a dull or worn safety
cutter bar (1), otherwise you will over-
load the motor and gears of your
device.
Inserting and removing the
battery
 WARNING! Risk of injury due to
unintentional start-up. Only insert the re-
chargeable battery into the device once
the device is fully prepared for use.
NOTICE! Risk of damage! An incorrect
battery can damage the device and bat-
tery.
Inserting the battery (Fig. E)
1. Push the battery (21) along the guide
into the battery holder (15).
You will hear the battery click into
place.
Removing the battery (Fig. E)
1. Press and hold the battery release (22)
on the battery (21).
2. Pull the battery out of the battery hold-
er (15).
Switching on and off
Requirements
• Battery inserted.
• Tubular shaft assembled
• Extension arm is set to the desired
length.
• Motor head is set to the desired work-
ing angle.
• Carrying strap put on.
Switching on (Fig. E)
1. Make sure that the locking devices of
the following moving parts are locked:
• Locking button (3) of the motor
head. (2)
• Lock (5) of the extension arm (18).
2. Slide and hold the switch lock (11) for-
ward.
3. Press and hold the On/off switch (13).
4. Release the switch lock (11).
Switching off (Fig. E)
1. To turn it off, release the on/off switch
(13).
2. Remove the rechargeable battery (21)
from the device if you are leaving the
device unattended or if you have fin-
ished working.
Putting down the device
• Place the device on the ground with the
motor head first.
• Place cutting unit on the ground
without subjecting it to any
pressure.
• Do not apply any static pressure what-
soever to the cutting unit.
Transport
Information on transporting the device:
• Switch off the device and remove the
rechargeable battery. Make sure that
all moving parts have come to a com-
plete stop.
• Always use the blade encasing (19) to
transport the device.
