Measured value = displayed value - probe short circuit value.
"REL" measurement mode is recommended for capacitance less than 100 nF.
4. Non-contact NCV AC electric field sensing (Picture 5)
4.1 Switch the dial to NCV position, the meter will beep once. The meter
defaults to "EFHI".
4.2 Move NCV sensing end close to a charged electric field (socket, insulated
wire, etc.), the LCD will display the segment "-" and the buzzer will beep
with red flashing LED. As intensity increases, the more segments (----)
are displayed and the higher the frequency of buzzer beeps and red LED
flashes.
The sensitivity of electric field sensing is divided into EFHI and EFLo.
Select between them by pressing the SELECT button. Select EFHI when
the electric field is around 220 V (AC) 50 Hz/60 Hz. Select EFLo when the
electric field is around 110 V (AC) 50 Hz/60 Hz.
Caution:
Make sure that the NCV sensing part (end of the clamp jaws) is close to the
electric field being measured, otherwise the measurement sensitivity will be
affected. To avoid personal injury, when the measured electric field voltage is
over 100 VAC, check whether the conductor is insulated.
5. Auto power off
The meter will automatically shut down after 15 minutes without operating the
function switch.
Activate it by pressing any button or restart it after turning the switch to
the OFF position. To disable the auto power off function, press and hold the
SELECT button in the off state, and turn on the meter.
6. Use of test leads
6.1 Testing in CAT III measurement locations
Ensure the test lead shield is pressed firmly in place. Failure to use the CAT III
shield increases risk of arc-flash.
