UNIVERSAL AC/DC POWER ADAPTER
1. Remove the wall adapter and charger from the carton.
2. Make sure the clipper is OFF.
3. To attach the desired plug to the wall adapter, align the slots on the plug to the ribs on the wall adapter
and slide into place. The plug will "click" into place when properly attached. To remove, locate the button
marked "push" on the wall adapter. Press the button and slide the plug from the wall adapter. The plugs
for the various countries all attach and remove using the same method (Figure G).
4. Connect the power cord to the back of the charger and then insert the transformer into an AC outlet.
CHARGING THE CLIPPER
This clipper comes with a travel lock. To disengage travel lock, hold power button down for 5 seconds until
clipper turns on. Once disengaged, turn clipper on and off by pressing the power button. To reengage the
travel lock, hold the power button down for 3 seconds.
The 13.5V
2.2A AC adapter is only intended for use with Andis Model RDLC lithium-ion clipper. Remove
the clipper and AC adapter from the carton. Plug the AC adapter into a 100-240V, 50/60 cycle AC outlet, or as
noted on the unit. Plug the adapter cord directly into the receptacle on the bottom of the clipper (Figure F).
The clipper must be off for the battery to charge. (Figure G). The charging indicator light will be white and
fade in and out while charging. When charging is complete, the indicator light will be solid white. (Figure G).
The clipper has not been charged at the factory. Please charge the clipper for 60 minutes before FIRST
use for maximum performance. When battery is fully charged, clipper can be used for up to 90
minutes of continuous run time.
FAILURE TO CHARGE
1. Make sure voltage is present at the wall outlet (confirm with an appliance you know is working).
2. Make sure ON/OFF switch on the clipper is OFF.
3. Check to make sure adapter cord is plugged firmly into clipper.
4. If failure to charge still exists, return clipper to Andis or an Andis authorized service station for
examination and repair or replacement.
CORDED OPERATION
If the clipper powers OFF in the middle of a clipping job, the adapter cord can be attached to continue use
in corded operation. When the clipper is running with the cord attached the white LED light will remain on.
This clipper will charge while running with the cord attached. After using your Andis clipper, rewrap cord
loosely and store in a safe place.
CHARGING/RUNNING INDICATOR LIGHT
When the clipper is running, a white charging indicator light means the battery has a strong charge (Figure
G). When the light turns red, the battery may not hold enough charge to complete a large clipping job, and
should be recharged as soon as possible. If the clipper powers off, plug the adapter cord directly in the
receptacle on the bottom of the clipper (Figure F).
Automatically powering off protects the lithium-ion battery and is not a malfunction. The clipper will resume
normal operation when it is recharged.
