4.5 Resistance Measurement
WaRNING: Disconnect the circuit power and discharge all high-voltage capacitors before making resistance measurements.
1. Connect the BLACK test lead to the COM terminal and RED test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal.
NoTe: The polarity of the RED test lead is "+".
2. Set the rotary switch to the "Ω" position to measure resistance. Select Ω measurement using the function button.
4.6 audible Continuity Test
WaRNING: Disconnect the circuit power and discharge all high-voltage capacitors before testing for continuity.
1. Connect the BLACK test lead to the COM terminal and the RED test lead to the "VΩHz" terminal.
2. Set the rotary switch to "
" position.
3. Connect the test leads across the resistance to be measured. The buzzer will sound if the resistance of the circuit measured is lower than
approximately 50 Ohms.
4.7 Diode Check
WaRNING: Disconnect the circuit power and discharge all high-voltage capacitors before testing a diode.
1. Set the rotary switch to the "" position.
2. Connect the BLACK test lead to "COM" terminal and RED test lead to the "VΩHz " terminal.
NoTe: The polarity of the RED test lead is " +".
3. Connect the test leads across the diode and note the reading.
4. Reverse the connections to the diode and again note the reading.
NoTe: If the diode under test is good, the test in one direction should show a voltage between approximately 0.40V to 0.80V for a silicon device and
the test in the opposite direction should show "OL". A faulty device will show either "000", "OL" or approximately 3.2V or a combination of these
in both directions.
