Remember that
• physical activity, increased perspiration on the forehead, taking vasoconstrictive
medication and skin irritations can distort the result.
• the forehead must be free from perspiration and cosmetics.
• before taking a reading, please remain indoors at room temperature for 5 minutes
avoiding exercise or taking a bath for 30 min prior reading.
• in case of doubt, please measure several times and take the highest measure-
ment value.
Hold the thermometer 0.78" – 1.18" (2 –3 cm) from the indicated point.
Press the Start-measurement button and move the thermometer from
side to side over the forehead area (Fig. 8). During measurement you will
hear short beeps (only if the acoustic signal in activated), which signal
that the thermometer has found a new highest measurement. End of
measurement is signaled by a long beep.
Release the Start-measurement button. You can now read the measure-
ment value.
Note: Only one single measurement is taken at a single spot in the
middle of the forehead.
The display also shows the symbols
Symbol
indicates that the body temperature is equal to or higher than 38°C,
whereas symbol
If the acoustic signal is switched on, three beeps will sound once the measurement is com-
plete if the temperature is equal to or higher than 100.4 °F (38°C).
The device is ready to take another measurement when two short beeps sound and the fore-
head symbol
stops flashing.
The measurement is automatically saved with the date/time and classification
or
indicates a measured value below 100.4 °F (38°C).
