CAUTION: Always use a correct spark plug.

CAUTION: Make sure that the spark plug
has the correct distance and that it is clean
from deposits.
1. Disconnect the spark plug cap, and remove dirt from
the spark plug area.
2. Remove the spark plug with a 13/16 in./21mm spark
plug wrench.

Troubleshooting

Cause
The operator presence control is
not engaged.
There is no fuel in the fuel tank.
There is no oil in the oil tank.
Too small number of diamond
tools on grinding head.
The incorrect type of diamond
tools for the surface.
The diamond tools are not cor-
rectly installed.
The diamond tools have different
heights.
3. Examine the spark plug. Replace it if it is damaged,
if the electrode (A) is worn or if the sealing washer
(B) is in bad condition.
4. Measure the spark plug electrode gap with a feeler
gauge for wires. Make sure that the distance is

5. If it is necessary, bend the side of side electrode
carefully to correct the distance.
6. Install the spark plug carefully, by hand.
7. Tighten the spark plug with a 13/16 in./21mm spark
plug wrench to compress the washer.
a) If you install a new spark plug, tighten ½ turn
after the spark plug seats to the compressed
washer.
b) If you install the same spark plug, tighten ⅛-¼
turn after the spark plug is against the
compressed washer.
CAUTION: A loose spark plug can
become too hot and cause damage
to the engine. If the spark plug is too
tight, it can cause damage to the top
of the cylinder.
8. Attach the spark plug cap to the spark plug.

trol against the handlebar when
you pull the starter rope handle.
