For the campatibility with DMX-60 this item still keeps in the menu. In this menu item the order of the
scenes for the automatic run for sequence table A is defined. In the input field any desired number of
combinations of the scenes in any desired order and frequency can be entered. The numbers are separated by
a comma. Also combinations like "1,2,2,1,3,10,10,10, 10,1" are allowed. The input is limited to 255 signs
(including commas). After the input of the scene order the scene time has to be defined. It is entered in
milliseconds and applies to all scenes. The scene combination can be changed during an automatic run. The
changes are immediately taken over when closing the input fields. See also item
2.2.5 Sequence table a-d
2.5.5.6 Save Sequence
Under this menu item a sequence from one of the four sequence tables A to D can be saved independently of
each other. The number of sequences is only limited by the hard disk capacity. The saved sequences for
DMX-510USB
have the file extension ".squ". If the block of scenes, which are placed in the sequence, are
not yet saved, the user will be now asked to do that.
2.5.5.7 Load Sequence
A saved sequence can be loaded into one of the four sequence tables A to D. Only one sequence can be
present in each sequence table at a time. When loading a sequence the current sequence in the table is
overwritten. The scenes which belong to the sequence are added to the list on the scene desk. We have
integrated an item to load also DMX-60 sequences. In the open file dialog box the file type 'DMX-60
Sequence' has to be selected then. DMX-60 sequences are always loaded to sequence table A.
2.5.5.8 Macros
The macro functions are one of the most important extensions of the programme. Shapes like a circle or an
eight need not be entered as individual parameters which would require a lot of trouble but can directly be
called as a function.
The macro window is called under the menu item "Programmes/macros". Independent of other scenes and
sequences it is possible to create and call macros. Five different macro types are available: circle, rectangle,
eight, spiral, and free hand. First the user has to decide on a scanner or a Moving Head for which the macro is
to be created. Example: SCAN-250 from IMG Stage Line. With this unit channel 5 is the PAN channel and
channel 6 the TILT channel. Enter the corresponding channels (in this case channels 5 and 6) in the text
fields under the designations "PAN channel" and "TILT channel". For controlling several scanners with
different PAN/TILT channels, separate the corresponding channels by a comma when entering them (e.g.
1,13,24 and 2,14,25). Select the macro type as the next step. Example: the spiral.
To adapt the macro as precisely as possible to the SCAN-250, the unit should be connected to the DMX-
510USB and set into operation. Now use the mouse to move the track ball in the track ball window with the
shift key pressed. This way first select the centre point of the spiral to be created. Attention should be paid to
the position of the light cone of the SCAN-250. If the desired centre point position is reached, this point is
double-clicked with the left mouse button. Then select the radius of the spiral with the shift key pressed, and
make a single mouse click at this place. Now a spiral with the desired radius will be drawn in the track ball
window. The X and Y coordinates for the created macro are shown in the table on the right of the track ball
window. If the start button is actuated now, the macro will be executed. The track ball moves according to
the PAN/TILT position in the track ball window. To increase the sequence speed, the step width can be
changed with a small horizontal fader. With input fields for X factor and Y factor the appearance of the shape
can be affected. The size of the shape can be varied with the input fields for the X scale and the Y scale.
Negative scales reverse the sequence direction of the macro. To centre macro shapes in a room or hall, offsets
can be set both for the X direction (positive and negative) and for the Y direction (positive and negative).
The number of the steps for one macro cycle is finally defined with the input window "Steps". A higher
number of steps results in slower movements of the macro. After each change of the parameters the key
"Apply" has to be actuated. The calculated data will be updated in the table and in the track ball window. If
required, the "Refresh" key has to be actuated to redraw the objects in the track ball window. The created
macros are started with the button "Start" and stopped with the button "Stop". Up to 8 macros can be
executed at the same time. During the sequence, individual macros can be started or stopped by setting or
resetting the check boxes beside the macro numbers.
The macro type can be changed at any time.
