D. PRESSURE SETTING
This operation must be carried out by or under the control of a surgeon.
Use the thumbwheel to select the pressure intra abdominal press it to begin your choice and turn it to select the required intra-abdominal pressure between 0 and
25 mmHg.
The pressure commonly used is 12 mmHg.
You will be asked as a safety precaution to confirm pressure set above 15 mmHg.
E. STARTING INSUFFLATION
Insufflation will start once the button [F] on the front panel is pressed. RUN appears on the screen when the insufflation is running.
The MENU can not be accessed while the device is operating; to access it, insufflation has to be stopped by using the button [F].
Insufflation starts in low mode, 2 l/min, so that pneumoperitoneum is created under the safest conditions.
When the low-flow is activated : LOW appears in larger on the screen.
High-flow mode is started manually by pressing the button [E] on the front panel, or automatically if the mode HIGH is activated (in the MENU).
When the high-flow is activated : HIGH appears in larger on the screen.
F. CONTROL
Once the cavity is created, the insufflator keeps pneumoperitoneum at the pressure selected and corrects CO
High flow mode should be activated to enjoy maximum Flow rate.
Once pressure set is reached, the insufflator stops insufflating. Insufflation restarts as soon as intracavitary pressure drops below pressure set.
Control the tightness of trocars where the gas input.
G. OVER-PRESSURES
As soon as intracavitary pressure exceeds pressure set by 2 mmHg:
- The message " OVER PRESSURE" is displayed on the screen
- There is also a visual warning light [B]
After one second the insufflators open the external pressure relief valve to decrease the intracavitary pressure.
As soon as intracavitary pressure exceeds pressure set by 5 mmHg :
- The message " OVER PRESSURE" is displayed on the screen
- There is also a visual warning light [B] and sound signal.
After 3 seconds the device discharges the gas by opening the external pressure relief valve.
H. MONITORING THE FLOW
The instantaneous flow rate is indicated on the LCD screen in liters/minute.
