5.8 DCA groups
Any channels can be grouped in 6 DCA groups Unlike as with sub-
groups, the signals of a DCA group are not mixed: It is only possible
to simultaneously control the signal levels of all channels contained
in a group by means of the corresponding fader (DCA = Digitally
Controlled Amplifier) The mixing ratio of the levels adjusted via the
channel faders will be retained, i e the gain values of the DCA controls
and the channel faders will be taken into account:
Example:
Channel fader = −6 dB, DCA fader = +3 dB ➾ resulting gain = –3 dB
5.8.1 Creating a DCA group
To create or modify a DCA group:
1) Press the key DCA (13) The key will start flashing and the screen
view "DCA Set" (fig 26) will be displayed
2) Tap the appropriate button DCA 1– 6 on the right side of the screen
to select the DCA group to be created
3) Use the keys (7, 8, 11) or tap the appropriate control on the screen
to select all channels that are to be included in the DCA group The
keys will light up and the corresponding sections on the screen will
be highlighted in colour
Channels linked as a stereo pair can only be selected together
4) To deselect a channel, press the appropriate key again
5) To remove all assignments to the DCA group, tap the button "DCA
Clear" A confirmation prompt will appear: Tap "Yes" or press the
key ENTER (20) to confirm
6) Press the key DCA (13) or tap the button "DCA Set" The mixer will
go to the view "Mixer"; the DCA group just created will be selected
In the mixer views, individual names can be assigned to DCA groups
just like to the other channels (

5.8.2 Mixing by means of DCA groups, muting groups
1) To control the level of a DCA group, press the key DCA 1– 6 (10)
for the group desired The screen will display the view "Mixer"
(fig 20), the key will be illuminated and the corresponding button
on the screen will be highlighted in colour In addition, all channels
assigned will be highlighted in colour on the screen
If you try to call up a DCA group that has not been defined yet, a
corresponding message will be displayed
2) The motor fader (24) can now be used to operate the fader of
the group selected and thus to adjust the levels of the channels
contained in this group Or the group can be muted with the
button MUTE (23)
3) The button SOLO (23) can be used to set all channels of the group
to the Solo bus for monitoring (
channels, the assignment to the Solo bus will be removed
4) To go to the view that shows the 6 faders of all DCA groups on a
single screen, press the key MIXER (22)
Note: The setting of the DCA group will remain in effect when another DCA
group is selected and operated When a channel is assigned to multiple DCA
groups, the resulting gain for this channel will depend on all DCA faders assigned
5.9 Digital outputs
At the jack USB AUDIO (35), the sum signal MAIN will always be
available
When the extension module for digital inputs and outputs is installed

(
chapter 44), the signal of each analog input channel and output
channel as well as the signal of the Solo bus will be additionally avail-
able as a digital output signal
1) Use the key DIGITAL (22) to call up the screen view "Digital Output"
(fig 28) (press the key twice, if required)
2) Tap the appropriate section on the screen view to switch the digital
output for the corresponding channel ON or OFF
