Settings
When using the RS-232C or RS-485 interface, perform
the necessary settings with 2. RS-232C/RS-485 SET of
MAIN MENU 2.
For details on menu operations, see "Menu Operations" on
page 17(GB).

Hard Disk Expansion and
Mirroring Setting
An optional HSBK-X201 hard disk drive can be added
for built-in hard disk expansion.
The added hard-disk drive will become usable after
initialization.
For mounting the HSBK-X201, ask your Sony dealer.
Initializing the hard disk for expansion
When you first supply power to the recorder after
hard-disk expansion, the HDD SET display
automatically appears. NEW is displayed on the line
for the added disk.

Activating the mirroring function
When the unit is equipped with two hard disks, the
mirroring function to record the same data on both of
the disks can be activated.
MIRRORING: Set to ON to activate the mirroring
function.
PLAYBACK DRIVE: Select the drive from which to
read the data for playback if data are recorded on
both drives with the mirroring function.
Note
In mirroring, when you set MIRRORING to ON, the
maximum recording cycle available will be limited to
0.05 sec (20 fields/sec, NTSC) / 0.06 sec (16.7 fields/
sec, PAL). Along with this, it includes a case for
recording time change. So, please always check
recording time available and the number of times for
alarm via "NORMAL REC MODE SET" and
"ALARM REC MODE SET" in the menu.
