5.2 Interconnecting several
RGBL-222DMX panels
Several RGBL-222DMX panels can be intercon-
nected (master / slave mode). Thus, the master unit
is able to synchronize all slave units.
1) Interconnect the units in each case via the inline
jack of the cable DMX OUT (5) and the plug (10)
of the cable DMX IN to create a chain. See chap-
ter 5.3.1 "DMX connection", however, skip step 1.
2) The first light effect panel in the chain (of which
the cable DMX IN has not been connected) is
used as a master unit to control the slave units.
Set the slave units to the slave mode:
a) When the display (2) is not activated, press
one of the control buttons (3).
b) Press both control buttons A and B at the
same time so that the display starts flashing.
c) Press the button A or B repeatedly until the

5.3 Operation with a DMX light controller
For operation via a DMX light controller (e. g. DMX-
1440 or DMX-510USB from "img Stage Line"), the
light effect panel is equipped with 6 DMX control
channels. For the functions of the channels and the
DMX values see chapter 5.3.3.
DMX is the abbreviation of digital multiplex and means
digital control of several DMX units via a common control
cable.

5.3.1 DMX connection

For DMX connection, 3-pole XLR connectors with
the following pin configuration are provided:
pin 1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
For connection, special cables for high data flow
are recommended. Standard microphone cables
with screening and a minimum cross section of 2 ×
0,22 mm
2
and with a capacity as low as possible
can only be recommended for a total cable length
of up to 100 m. For cable lengths exceeding 150 m,
it is generally recommended to insert a DMX level
matching amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX from "img
Stage Line").
1) Connect the plug (10) of the cable DMX IN to the
inline jack of the supplied cable with XLR plug
(8). Secure the connector with the cap nut. Con-
nect the XLR plug via an extension cable to the
DMX output of the light controller or, if further
DMX-controlled units are used, to the DMX out-
put of the last DMX-controlled unit of the DMX
signal cable.
