4 Setting-up
and Connecting the Unit
The control unit and the player mechanism unit
are provided for mounting into a rack for units
with a width of 482 mm (19"), but they can also
be used as tabletop units. The player mecha-
nism unit must always be operated horizontally
whereas the control unit can be installed as
desired, e. g. also inclined. For rack installation
2 rack spaces each are required for the control
unit and the player mechanism unit (1 RS =
1 rack space = 44.45 mm).
Prior to the connection or changing connections,
switch off the CD-270DJ and the units to be con-
nected.
1) Make the connection between control unit
and player mechanism unit: Connect the two
8-pole mini DIN jacks (21 and 24) on the rear
sides of the units via the supplied mini DIN
cable.
2) Connect the stereo outputs LINE OUT for
player 1 (25) and player 2 (22) via RCA cables
to the CD player inputs at the mixer or ampli-
fier.

number (indication TRACK), the time indica-
tion (E) shortly shows the total playing time
and then the remaining playing time of the
title (switching over the time indication

As a basic setting, the display shows the remain-

the last 30 seconds of a title are displayed by

15 seconds by flashing even faster.
With the button TIME (9) the time indication can
be switched over, the respective insertion (F)
shows which time information is presently
shown:

REMAIN TOTAL inserted:
remaining time of the CD

5.2 Selecting the operating mode

Use the button CONT (8) to switch between the
modes SINGLE PLAY and CONTINUOUS
PLAY. The active mode is shown by the corre-
sponding insertion (H).
A In the mode SINGLE PLAY (replay of indi-
vidual titles) the player is switched to pause
each time a title is replayed.
This mode is especially provided for DJ
.
applications. After reading in the CD or after
selecting a title with the buttons
the player is precisely at the spot where
the music starts (mostly not at the time
index 0 : 00 : 00 but some frames later,
or the button
(15)
e. g. 0 : 00 : 15). This spot is automatically
memorized as the starting point (Auto Cue
point). After starting the title, it is possible to
return to this starting point with the button
CUE (14). After replaying a title, the player is
switched to pause precisely at the spot where
the music of the next title starts. This spot is
then memorized as the new starting point.
B In the mode CONTINUOUS PLAY (replay of
all titles) all titles are replayed successively.
At the end of the CD the player mechanism
stops, the display shows the total number of
the titles (C) and the total playing time of the
CD (E).

selection, also in this mode the beginning of
a title is memorized as the Auto Cue point,
is
however, not precisely at the spot where the
music starts but at the time index 0 : 00 : 00.
However, if the titles are not selected via the
buttons
Auto Cue points will be memorized.

the beginning of a title.
