MAINTENANCE
Backflow preventers require periodical maintenance, at least once a year, as indicated in the norm.
1. Connect the differential pressure gauge.
2. Close shutoff valve 2 and take note of the pressure difference.
3. Close shutoff valve 1.
4. Open bypass-valve 3 slowly until the drain valve starts dripping.Take note of the pressure difference.

Installation and Maintenance instructions for
IMT Backflow Preventer Fig. 301 and 301V
The backflow preventer Type BA complies with the European Norm EN 1717.
It works on the basis of the 3-chamber system, where an intermediate chamber, separated from the inlet
and outlet chambers by means of two internal non-return valves, has a discharge valve to atmosphere.
Water discharges to atmosphere when the pressure drop between the inlet chamber and the intermediate
chamber falls to 0.14 bar.
Fig. 301 is for horizontal application; Fig. 301V is for vertical application.
Technical Data
Medium: Water
Structural Pressure: PN 10
Temperature rating max.: 65°C
Short peaks max. 80°C
No res pons ibility is taken for the c orrec tness of the technical information. We reserve the right for technical c han ges and mistak es. Edition 2, February 2014
