2. Lay the cable tree as shown in the installation diagram.
Note
On vehicles with Parktronic the brown/white cable (p) has to be run to the area of the C-pillar
as shown in the diagram. The cable (p) has to be connected to the vehicle's parktronic-cable
(2) (brown/white) through a soldered joint.
If the brown/white parktronic-cable (2) is not provided on the vehicle, lay line (p) up to the
kick space on the front-seat passenger side and connect it to the Parktronic control unit (pin
2 on connector 1, 18-pin).
3. Remove the blanking plug from the cable bushing hole (2). On vehicles without a blanking
plug, drill a hole of Ø 40 mm. Pay attention to the dimensions shown in Fig. 4!
4. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable bushing.
5. Lay the socket end of the cable harness from the inside through the cable leadthrough along
the cross-spar to the socket holder plate.
6. Fit the socket gasket to the cable harness.
7. Connect the 7-pin version of the socket (X58) as shown in the assignment diagram. If the 13-
pin version of the socket is used, let the socket contact support lock into place in the socket
housing.
8. Push the rubber grommet against the socket.
9. Secure the controller (N28/2) using the supplied velcro tape.
10. Plug the 12-pin coupler connector into the controller (N28/2).
