Operating vehicle-independent accessories from the 13pin socket of the towing
device
Note
This only concerns retrofitting!
This bulletin has to be discussed with the customer.
The power supply can be connected in two different ways.
Method 1 (applies only to vehicles with connector assembly X58/4) is possible with the supplied
cable set.
Method 2 requires and additional set of cables and costs about € 150.- more.
If power supply is required only while driving, see 1.
If power supply (continuous voltage) is also required when the vehicle is not being driven, see 2.
1 The 13-pin socket receives its power through terminal 15R. That is, the 13-pin socket is
supplied with power as of ignition key position 1.
Caution - Loss of insurance cover!
The power supply must not be used while the vehicle is not being driven because then the
vehicle is not protected against theft!
The insurance cover will be rendered void if this instruction is not complied with.
2 The 13-pin socket receives its power through terminal 30. That is, the socket is always
supplied with power (continuous voltage).
This page has to be photocopied, explained to the customer and then given to the customer.
