adjusting height of wheels to select the height for work-
ing.
• Pull the adjustment arm (1) away to move it along the
slot ( Fig. 4.1).
• Select regulation from among the 4 options.
• Release and Insert the adjustment arm (1) into the
cross hole of every position to lock coupling between
arm and cover (Fig. 4.2).
BLADE SYSTEM CHANGE (Fig. 5)
• Use the tool (18) provided to change the blade system
while necessary.
• Turn over the machine to motor side in dry place and
loosen 2 bolts to take them away (Fig. 5.1).
• Pull the flange of the blade system up horizontally from
the coupling in the machine body (Fig. 5.2).
• Pull the original blade system upward to detach it from
the machine body (Fig. 5.3).
• Press the shaft of the desired blade system down to
couple the square shaft in machine body (Fig. 5.4).
• Insert the flange of the desired blade system into the
coupling in machine body (Fig. 5.5).
• Screw 2 bolts tightly and turn back the machine to
ground and operate it before using. Put aside the re-
placed blade system into a dry place after cleaning
(Fig. 5.6).

7. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Always keep to instructions on safety and
current rules and regulations. Apply only a
gentle pressure to the machine.
HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS
HOW TO USE YOUR SCARIFIER (using blade system 3)
• By scarifying you remove the hardened surface, grass
felt and flat-growing weeds and the crusted over grass-
roots are loosened up. The lawn will start to breath
again and assimilate the nourishing substances, oxy-
gen and water. This also prevents the establishing of
bacteria in the lawn felt during the wintertime.
• Cut the grass to a height of about 40 mm before scari-
fying. The lawn must be dry when using the machine.
The best time for an scarifying is any time during the
vegetative season, from end April through to Septem-
ber. Scarify it at least once a year. We recommend us-
ing a fertilizer straight after airing if you want a green
carpet.
HOW TO USE YOUR RAKER (using blade system 17)
• By raking you remove the dead matter, moss and
weed which disfigures a lawn. The build up of dead
grass provides a mat of absorbent fibres which pre-
vents water getting through to the ground.
• Do not force your rake through grass that is longer
than 75mm. The lawn must be dry when using the ma-
chine. It's recommend that your raker is used at the
beginning and the end of each grass cutting season
to give your lawn a thorough raking. Your raker should
also be used after each mowing to remove any grass
cutting that may be left by your mower.
SWITCHING ON/OFF (Fig. 6)
• This Machine is provided with an electric safety switch
against accidental starts. Push the safety lock-off but-
ton (5) on the switchbox, then pull the switch lever (6)
towards the handle (Fig. 6.1).
• The top handle is equipped with a hooked ring (15)
which holds the extension cable. Hook the cable to
protect socket and plug from accidental tears (Fig.
6.2).
GENERAL OPERATION (Fig. 7)
We recommend the directional method of operation to
obtain the maximum cutting performance from your unit
and to reduce the risk of the trailing the extension lead
from entering the cutting path.
• Place the bulk of the supply cable on the lawn close to
the starting point (position 1, Fig. 7.1).
• Hold the handle assembly with both hands.
WARNING: Do not attempt to operate your Machine with
one hand - you must guide it with both hands. Do not
operate your machine on sanded, concrete or woodened
ground.
• Tilt the handle downwards to slightly raise the front of
your unit and to reduce the risk of lawn damage while
starting, depress the safety lock-off button (5) on the
switchbox and while still depressed pull the switch le-
ver (6) towards you. Your machine will start and you
can now allow the lock-off button to be released and
lower your Machine to its proper cutting position, and
commence cutting.
• Proceed down the cutting area as shown in Fig. 7.1,
working from position 1 towards position 2 and, on
reaching position 2, turn to the right and proceed to-
wards position 3. Continue to the end of the cutting
area, turn to the left and proceed towards position 4.
Continue in the same manner as shown in Fig. 7.1,
always working away from the cable. Do not adopt the
method as shown in Fig. 7.2, working towards the ca-
ble, as this is dangerous practice.

SETTING THE WORKING DEPTH

The working depth is adjustable to 4 heights referring to
below table. Pull adjustment arm (1) away from one posi-
tion and move to catch in desired position.

It's recommended that your machine positions are as
follows:
• Highest setting. This setting should be used when you
wish to give the lawn a particularly vigorous raking or
scarifying.
- On this setting, your machine as a raker will remove
all the debris and thatch that has collected at the
base of your grass. It will also remove moss and
weeds on this setting.
