SCREW AIR COMPRESSOR
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
2.2
OIL CHANGE PROCEDURES (See Figure 20, page 53)
A.
Turn off the compressor and wait for three minutes until the system pressure is depleted.
B.
Attach a hose to oil drain valve (item ), open it and collect the used oil in an approved container. Close the
valve when draining is complete.
C.
Open plug and fill compressor with lubricoolant.
D.
The approximate oil quantities are as follows (see item 1.2.C in Preventive Maintenance, page 52):
SRP3040E- 15 liters (15.8 in QT)
SRP 3040 - 15
E.
Close the plug as soon as filling is completed.
F.
Turn on the compressor and let it run for about 5 minutes.
2.3 RE-FASTENING OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
A.
Check the tightness of all electrical connections in the cabinet. Tighten as necessary.
IMPORTANT
If the Preventive Maintenance cares are followed - clean air filter, the use of lubricant mineral oil and of the air/oil
separator element, etc, your Schulz screw air compressor will have an extended lifetime.
3.
QUARTERLY
A.
Clean the cooler using compressed air (Figure 21, page 53). It must be blown against the fan's flow.
Note:
Whenever there is high incidence of waste deposited inside the compressor, on the cooler's fins,
!
increase the frequency with which this maintenance if performed.
4. EVERY 3,000 HOURS
Change the air/oil separator element* (item , Figure 17, page 53) after alternately in diagonal, tighten the
screws item
5
(Figure 17, page 53) [M12 to level strain using and calibrated torquimeter (torque of 73 + 15
N.m] and the air filter element (item , Figure 18, page 53), the oil filter (item , Figure 19, page 53) and
lubricant mineral oil (see Table 3, page 53).
* It's important to check the sealing gasket of the separator element for a grounding clip (staple)or clamp.
If there is no grounding clip the element must be exchanged for an element that has a grounding clip
installed.
IMPORTANT
When installing this element, electrical continuity must be established and maintained between the element
itself and the separator tank. Failure to maintain continuity can result in the build-up of static electricity in the
compressor. The spark resulting from the discharge of this static electricity can ignite the air/oil mixture within
the compressor resulting in severe damage to equipment and injury or loss of life!
5. EVERY 4,000 HOURS
Grease the electric motor roller bearings every 4,000 hours. For additional information, check the motor's
instruction manual, or its technical data plate. The proper lubrication of the electric motor significantly
increases the life expectancy of the roller bearings.
6. ANNUALLY
If required by state or local codes, a technically certified organization must calibrate the safety valve, pressure
switch and the pressure gauge(s). If this is not possible, replacement of certified items with new (recently
certified ) items is an option.
