START PROCEDURE
F. After making sure that the rotation direction is correct, close the side door and press the Start Key
to run the compressor again, keeping the valve closed until the compressor reaches its maximum pressure
and starts to unload. Slowly open the air outlet valve and your rotary screw air compressor is now ready to
supply compressed air to the network.
IMPORTANT
- Never allow the compressor to run with its doors open for longer than three minutes. It will avoid
refrigeration problems, that is, the discharge temperature increase of the air end.
- In the first start, the motor must not work for more than three seconds (3) with the inverted rotation. Item
"E" (SRP 3040) or item "F" (SRP 3040E) is accomplished quickly and will be easily observed. In case of
problems during the start-up, consult the Troubleshooting Tips Chapter, page 57.
- In emergencies, press the emergency button that will switch off the compressor.
- The emergency button must only be used when the compressor needs to be stopped immediately. Its
use under normal conditions will cause failure in the equipment. This is not covered by the warranty.
- In normal operations, use the Stop Key (red) on the instrument panel, where a timed unload will occur
before the compressor stops.

A. To switch off (manual stop), press the stop key/button (
unload will occur before the compressor's full stop.
SRP 3040 Compressor's
A. Close the air outlet valve;
B. To switch off (manual stop), press the stop key/button (
unload will occur before the compressor's full stop.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

1. WEEKLY
1.1 WITH THE COMPRESSOR ON:
A. Check belt tension and adjust it if necessary (Figure 15, page 52).
In order to measure the tension, use a tensiometer this can be purchased from the nearest SCHULZ
Authorized - Technical/Distributor.
B. Check the tightness of the screws of the compressor pulley, using a torquewrench according to table
(Figure 16, page 52).
C. Check the air filter restriction: If indicator (item ) (Figure 18,
hours (whichever occurs first) change air inlet filter (item ) (Figure 18, page 53) and unlock the differential
pressure indicator (unlocking instructions are given on its body).
D. Drain the condensed (water) from the air/oil tank weekly, or daily, according to the ambient relative
humidity, as follows:
- Switch off the compressor and wait for one hour until the condensed water is deposited on the tank's bottom;
- Connect a hose to the drain valve (item ) (Figure 20, page 53), open it and collect the condensed water in a
container. Close the valve as soon as the oil starts to flow from the tank.
