Clean the appliance after every use
Observe the maintenance schedule
Observe the operating hour or annual inter-
vals, whichever comes first
More frequent maintenance is necessary
when the appliance is used under more se-
vere operating conditions

ADVICE
The filter element must be kept free of
grass residues and soiling.
Replace filter elements only with OEM
spare parts.
The engine must never be operated wi-
thout a properly installed filter element.
Clean the air filter at regular intervals. Replace da-
maged air filters.
1. Clean the area around the filter cover
2. Remove the cover (3-1) by unscrewing the
two knobs (3-2)
3. Check the condition of the filter element; it
must be in a good and sound condition, clean
and fully functional; otherwise the element
must be serviced or replaced
4. Install cover (3-1) again

CAUTION!
Water, petrol, cleaning agents and simi-
lar products must not be used to clean
the cartridge.
CAUTION!
The foam prefilter (9-3b) must NOT be
soaked with oil.
1. Clean the area around the filter cover
2. Remove the cover (9-1) by unscrewing the
two knobs (9-2)
3. Remove the filter element (9-3a, 3b)
4. Pull the prefilter (9-3b) out of the cartridge
(9-3a)
5. Cover the intake duct of the engine with a
cloth (9-5)
6. Tap the cartridge (9-3a) on a solid surface and
blow out with compressed air from the inside
to the outside to remove dust and dirt

7. Wash the foam prefilter (9-3b) with water and
detergent and allow to dry in the air
8. Clean the inside of the cover (9-1), ensuring
that the intake duct remains covered with the
cloth (9-5) to prevent dirt getting into the en-
gine
9. Remove the cloth (9-5)
10. Pull the prefilter over the cartridge
11. Install the filter element (9-3a,3b) in its hou-
sing
12. Install the cover (9-1) again

Check the oil level at regular intervals.
Check the oil level every 8 operating hours or daily
before starting the engine (see Oil recommenda-
tions).
WARNING!
Risk of fire and explosion from es-
caped fuel!
The fuel tank must be drained before
draining the oil.
ADVICE
Drain the old oil with the engine still
warm. Warm oil drains more quickly and
more completely.
ADVICE
The max. oil capacity of the engine is 1.2
litres. Top up the oil slowly in small quan-
tities, checking the filling level constantly
to ensure that the "MAX" mark on the dip-
stick is not exceeded.
ADVICE
Dispose of old oil in an environmentally
safe manner.
1. To drain the fuel tank, allow the engine to run
until it stops due to lack of fuel
2. Pull off spark plug cap (4-1)
3. Use a suitable container to collect the old oil
4. Unscrew the oil dipstick (7-1)
5. Unscrew drain plug (7-2)
6. Drain the oil completely into a container
7. Screw in drain plug (7-2) again, ensuring that
the gasket is positioned correctly, and screw
tight
8. Refill with fresh oil
