ADVICE
At low outdoor temperatures, pro-
blems can be encountered with cold
starting
At high outdoor temperatures, pro-
blems can be encountered with hot
starting due to evaporation of fuel in
the carburettor or pump
The oil grade must always be adap-
ted to the operating temperatures
The maximum power of an in-
ternal combustion engine declines
progressively with the increase in
height above sea level
With a significant increase in eleva-
tion, the engine load must therefore
be reduce and particularly heavy
work avoided

STORAGE

CAUTION!
Risk of fire and/or explosion!
Do not store the machine in the vicinity
of naked flames or heat sources.
Read the operating manual on the appliance
before putting the engine into storage.
Allow the engine to cool down.
Store where it is protected from moisture
Store the engine in a well-ventilated room, not
in the vicinity of naked flames or heat sources
Avoid storing in the following areas:
Close to naked flames
Close to heat sources
Where electric motors are in operation
Where electric tools are in operation
On engines which are to be stored for more
than 30 days, drain the fuel or protect with a
fuel stabiliser as otherwise deposits can form
in the fuel system
ADVICE
Drain the fuel tank to prevent the forma-
tion of deposits in the tank:
Loosen plug (6-1)
Collect the fuel in a suitable vessel
After draining, screw in the plug
again tightly
If the fuel tank is to be drained, this must be
done outdoors and with the engine cold
In order to avoid the risk of fire, keep the en-
gine, the exhaust silencer and the fuel sto-
rage area free of grass, leaves or excess
grease
For safety reasons, never use the engine with
worn or damaged parts. Such parts must al-
ways be replaced, not repaired. Use OEM
spare parts. Spare parts of inferior quality can
damage the engine and endanger your safety

MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS

DANGER!
Always switch off and secure the engine
before starting adjustment, maintenance
or repair work.
Regular maintenance is crucial for safety and
to preserve the performance of the engine
Pull ignition cable (4-1) off the spark plug
(4-2) and keep away from the spark plug
Carburettor adjustment
ADVICE
Carburettor adjustments may only be
carried out by authorised workshops or
our After-Sales Service.
Ignition spark check
WARNING!
Sparks can cause fire or electric shock.
Use a suitable spark tester
Never test ignition sparks with the spark plug
removed

REPAIR OPERATIONS

ADVICE
Repairs may only be carried out by aut-
horised workshops or our After-Sales
Service.
Use only original AL-KO spare parts

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

DANGER!
Always switch off and secure the engine
before starting adjustment, maintenance
or repair work.
Remove the spark plug cap before starting
maintenance and cleaning work
