7. Working life

7.10 Commissioning the drive unit

Only authorised personnel may commission a drive unit. The safety regulations and instructions in
this installation manual must be read and obeyed.
Before commissioning, you must check the drive unit for damage and you must obey the instruc-
tions for operating the drive unit (see section 7.5). If you cannot detect any damage, then the
drive unit can be used.
•
Test the drive unit fixed adaptation 1.
•
Connect the lead for the external controller either to a RK transformer controller, RKMul-
tiControl mono- or to a RKMultiControl duo/quadro controller (see controller user manual).
•
If applicable, connect another drive unit to the controller.
•
Connect the hand switch to the controller (see controller installation instructions).
•
Plug the controller mains lead into the mains (see controller installation instructions).
•
Set the drive unit sequences (see controller installation manual).
•
Carry out an initialisation run (see controller installation manual).
•
Ensure when controlling drive units that the limit switches 8 are actuated and that movement
is disabled in the end positions.

Regarding the installation position of the components, you must take care to avoid
crushing and shearing points, especially when considering subsequent use.
