7.11 Servicing

7.11.1 Drive unit servicing

In theory, the drive unit does not require servicing, but it is not exempt from wear and tear. In oth-
er words, if there is excessive wear or you fail to exchange worn-out product components, the
safety of the product may no longer be guaranteed.
Work with the drive unit may only take place in accordance with these instructions. The unit may
only be opened by authorised technical staff. If there is a fault with the drive, we recommend that
you contact the manufacturer or send the drive unit for repair.
if you are working on the electrical system or on electrical components, these must be isolated
from the mains first to prevent any risk of injury.
Independent conversions of or changes to the drive unit are not permitted on safety grounds.
Safety-related devices must be checked at least once a year for completeness and ser-
viceability.
7.11.2 Servicing hand switches
Hand switches do not require any servicing. You may only work on hand switches in accordance
with these instructions. The actions described in the installation manual are to be observed. If
there is a fault with the unit, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer or send the unit
for repair.

7.12 Cleaning

You can clean the hand switch and the outer surfaces of the drive unit with a clean, lint-free
cloth.
Cleaners containing solvents attack the material and can damage it.

7.13 Disposal and returns

The drive unit must either be disposed of according to the applicable policies and regulations, or
returned to the manufacturer.
The drive unit contains electronic components, leads, metals, plastics, etc., and must be disposed
of in accordance with the applicable environmental regulations for the country in question. In
Germany, disposal is governed by the Elektro-G (RoHS) [Electrical Code] and in the European
[Economic] Area by EU Directive 2002/95/EC or the relevant national legislation.
